ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION, PROJECTS AND INFRASTRUCTURE
PALIT & CO deals with the full spectrum of project related legal services including advisory and litigation/dispute resolution support, right from project conceptualization, structuring, risk analysis, contracting, development, commissioning, execution and related areas to our clients in different sectors. We advise on engineering and construction contracts across varied sectors from all sides of construction contracts – as an advisor for project developers, employers, contractors, sub-contractors, investors, suppliers. Our role is not dispensed at the execution of the Engineering & Construction Contract. We are there to handhold our clients during the entire construction phase as well. We advise our clients during the construction and/or operation phase wherein we advise on all project related contractual issues. The Project Claims and Dispute Management practice in engaged in advising and representing clients before courts of law, arbitration tribunals and various legal forums on all project related contractual issues during construction and/ or operations.

TAXATION
PALIT & CO offers an array of services in the field of indirect taxation. On the advisory front, we regularly advice clients on complex tax positions and undertake a comprehensive review of positions adopted at an entity level. We are also engaged making representations on various indirect tax issues having a significant impact on business houses before finance ministry, and Goods and Services Tax Council.
On the litigation front, we regularly represent clients before Adjudicating Authority, Commissioner (Appeals), Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal, High Courts and Supreme Court of India. We also appear before Advance Ruling Authority, National Anti-profiteering Authority and Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Our scope inter alia covers providing support during investigations conducted by DRI / DGGI (erstwhile DGCEI), drafting and filing of replies and appeals, and attending hearings before the aforesaid judicial fora.

PALIT & CO has a dedicated team of lawyers and chartered accountants, who provide end to end advisory and representative services in relation to structuring issues, conducting legal due diligence, drafting transactional documentation such as MoUs, term sheets, business transfer agreements, share purchase agreements, in case of complex transactions, corporate resolutions, schemes of arrangements etc. The firm's litigation team assists in drafting of the necessary applications and representing clients before National Company Law Tribunal and Courts for approval and closure.
